This blog is run by some of the most wonderful women I have ever desperately wanted to meet. The majority of them are in Europe and I'd give anything to get them all together and just talk books and be generally silly. ♥ They have supported me through thick and thin and I absolutely would be lost without their friendship... and yes, even though I've never met them personally, I do consider them to be my friends.

Four of them... yes four... answered my interview questions... that is just a small sample of their awesomeness. ♥

Amy:

Aside from loving to read, why did you start blogging?

Well, when I started working with the blog I was a stay at home mom of two little kids and I read a lot. I happened to see a post where they were looking for new reviewers so I contacted the blog and the rest is history. I had no idea the amount of different authors and stories I would be exposed to – it has been absolutely incredible!

How long have you been blogging?

A little over a year I believe!

Where is you blog’s home? US or abroad?

Well, that’s all depending upon your definition of home. Merissa, who started the blog, is living in Germany.

What’s your favorite book?

Now this is a really hard question to answer. Can there really just be one favorite book? I feel like I’m leaving a lot of authors out by choosing! Though if you just have to have a favorite, it is the Harry Potter series as a whole!

What’s your favorite genre?

Romance for sure! I find myself reading a lot of contemporary romance and romantic suspense.

Is there any specific genre that you don’t care to read?

Sci-Fi is really a genre that doesn’t grab my attention – yet. I will never say never because if it is written right, I’m sure I could read anything.

What is the one thing about your blog that you think makes it stand out among the other blogs?

We rock?! Merissa is the one thing that stands out if you want me to be completely honest. She goes absolutely above and beyond trying to fit in every single person’s request. Sometimes we have to say no and I know that we all hate doing that.

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?

Honestly, while most might think it’s the free books, it’s the contact and friends I have made with other authors. I have been introduced to so many new authors that I likely wouldn’t have been otherwise, I feel absolutely blessed to have come across so many!

When you aren’t busy with your blog, what do you enjoy doing?

Spending time with my family! I’m married and have two kids, Abi who is 5 and Kenny who is 2. I now work full time so my time is more limited so in the evenings it’s all about my family, in the mornings before work and before the kids get up, it’s all about the blog.

What would you like the whole world to know about your blog?

We are a group of ladies who love to read and love sharing authors work, new or old. We don’t deal with drama and will do what we can to accommodate your request. We are honest and will share only honest reviews – we don’t sugar coat but we aren’t rude! We are always welcoming new authors to help promote their work!

Aside from loving to read, why did you start blogging?

Originally, it was just a way of keeping track of what books and reviews I had done. It quickly got a life of its own and I started asking for help!

How long have you been blogging?

The very first post was dated 23rd November 2013

Where is you blog’s home? US or abroad?

We cover both – I am living in Germany; Debbie, Angi and Helen are in the UK; and Amy is in the US

What’s your favorite book?

How the hell am I supposed to choose just one?!?! If I really had to, I would say Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey. This is the first Fantasy book I read, which also sparked my interest in reading “properly”. It is one I have read countless times and still love.

What’s your favorite genre?

Fantasy, closely followed by Paranormal Romance

Is there any specific genre that you don’t care to read?

Horror – I just can’t do it. My imagination runs wild and I can’t sleep!

What is the one thing about your blog that you think makes it stand out among the other blogs?

I have absolutely no idea. We received a lovely compliment from someone via #IABBConfessions last Thursday, when someone said that we had gone above and beyond the call of duty. That absolutely made my day and we all appreciated it.

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?

Finding and helping new authors. I know it sounds blasé, but it’s true. I’ve found some great authors whilst doing promotions, tours and reviews. I’m also lucky enough to call some of them friend now.

When you aren’t busy with your blog, what do you enjoy doing?

I’m a stay at home mum who also writes under a pen name, so my time is split between being there for my children and trying to write my next book.

What would you like the whole world to know about your blog?

No – because if I couldn’t help everyone, I’d feel awful!

Debbie:

Aside from loving to read, why did you start blogging?

I got dragged kicking and screaming into it! Merissa was looking to expand her personal blog, then called For The Love Of Books, and asked me to come aboard. The rest, as they say, is history!

How long have you been blogging?

I joined Goodreads in June 2012, so about 4 years. I read for the blog, rather than do the blogging.

Where is you blog’s home? US or abroad?

I'm UK based, but the blog base is Germany

What’s your favorite book?

I cannot answer that, because I would be here all day BUT my latest five star read, which will be my current favourite till the next 5 star read is Losing Faith by Scotty Cade.

What’s your favorite genre?

Pre-kindle days, it was always horror or crime/thriller but since I got my kindle and discovered all the free books, if forced to pin it down, I'd say paranormal and all its subgenres.

Is there any specific genre that you don’t care to read?

Zombies. And the step brother romances. Nuh-uh! No Ma'am! Young/New adult is a bit hit and miss as is contemporary.

What is the one thing about your blog that you think makes it stand out among the other blogs?

If we can fit you in, we will! And we don't need you to be an established author, brand new authors are always welcome. If your blurb is good, one of us will read it!

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?

Finding those brand new authors and giving them a boost, making new friends along the way.

When you aren’t busy with your blog, what do you enjoy doing?

I have a home to run, with three cats and a teenager who allow me to live there so long as I keep them fed! I also sew patchwork blankets, which is great for listening to books at the same time!

What would you like the whole world to know about your blog?

We are a friendly bunch, always polite and respectful. No one will slate you or your book, but we'll simply say what we liked or didn't. Come say hello, you'll see :-)

You want to know where to find these amazing ladies?? Here are their links:

OMGoogle! The ladies who are Celebrity Readers are just too much fun. LOL I met Carla through... you guessed it... IABB and Confessions. She actually has done some beta reading for me. ♥ And Lenore, I met through Carla. They always make me smile and they have the best way of brightening the day for so many people.

You get lucky with the interview questions because both Lenore and Carla answered them. LOL

Lenore:

Aside from loving to read, why did you start blogging?

I'd been writing reviews for every single book I read for a few years (since shortly after I got my first kindle and discovered Indie books), and I love participating in the Indie community -- from sharing sales, to cover reveals, to just trying to pimp out the authors I love. I'd mostly been doing that on my personal Facebook page, but I kind of wanted to interact more with people actually interested instead of just my friends (not all of whom are readers). After meeting up with fellow book nerds at a few conventions/book signings, and guest blogging on The Unofficial Book Blog, I just felt like maybe it was time to have my own piece of this weird book community. But I didn't want to do it alone. And I knew immediately that if I was going to start this new adventure, Carla was the one I wanted to adventure with. We have a lot of crossover tastes, but we also branch out in our own areas, so I knew we'd both bring a bunch of great books to the table and unique opinions. And she's just plain amazing. I feel like we get each other, and have the same perverse sense of humour, so she would always make blogging fun.

How long have you been blogging?

We started in September of 2015, so we're not even a year old yet!

Where is you blog’s home? US or abroad?

Our blog is INTERNATIONAL!!! Or at least North American. Curly Carla is from California, and I'm from the great white north -- Canada (Edmonton, Alberta to be exact).

What’s your favorite book?

ROFL. Yeah, no. I would honestly still be stuck on this question for years if you made me answer it. There are just too many to count, and I have no way to narrow it down. Sorry if that's a bit of a copout answer.

What’s your favorite genre?

Even this question is hard to answer. I guess I'll just say romance, b/c no matter what I read, I prefer it to have at least a little bit of romance in it. I probably lean more towards contemporary if I really had to choose.

Is there any specific genre that you don’t care to read?

I'm not a huge fan of historical, and I prefer for whatever I read to have at least a smidgeon of romance, so that pretty much excludes non-fiction.

What is the one thing about your blog that you think makes it stand out among the other blogs?

I'm never good at these kinds of questions! I think our love of Indie books makes us stand apart. So many blogs feature the same popular books that are out via traditional publishing, and Curly Carla and I just have an affinity for the underdog Indie authors (not that we won't read traditionally published books too, we just tend to be Indie heavy).

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?

Interacting with other people that love books and reading as much as me -- and in particular, chatting with Curly Carla. I love that girl.

When you aren’t busy with your blog, what do you enjoy doing?

Obviously reading. I really do spend the majority of my time doing that. I love swimming, but rarely find the time to go. I enjoy sewing, but kind of burned out so I haven't been sewing lately. And I definitely enjoy traveling, though after my latest mishap with delayed baggage (that had 42 books in it), I think I need a break from that too.

What would you like the whole world to know about your blog?

We may call ourselves Celebrities, but that's partly to poke fun at ourselves -- we're just two crazy girls who love reading, and love to share our love of reading with the world.

Carla

Aside from loving to read, why did you start blogging?

I feel like it was the next logical step since becoming a part of this community. I review all the books I read and I was on a few street teams, plus I had some blogger friends. Then one day one of my very dear street team friends approached me and asked if I wanted to co-blog with her. I thought it was a great idea since we could share the responsibility and there wasn’t so much pressure.

How long have you been blogging?

We are pretty new, only since September of 2015.

Where is you blog’s home?

https://celebrityreaders.wordpress.com/ is the only way I know how to answer this question. Is that what you meant? US or abroad?

Well, I would say we are international since Lenore lives in Canada.

What’s your favorite book?

What kind of trick question is this?!?!!? LOL, this changes on a daily basis. Right now, I would have to say that Truth of Beard by Penny Reid. I floved that story.

What’s your favorite genre?

It’s really a toss-up between Sci-fi/fantasy and anything with Romance.

Is there any specific genre that you don’t care to read?

Non-fiction, I read to escape, not to learn stuff. But I’m trying to broaden my horizons cause knowledge is power.

What is the one thing about your blog that you think makes it stand out among the other blogs?

I can’t name one thing! We aren’t taking review requests right now. That’s probably a big thing, I have a set of core authors I beta for that I take very seriously and my TBR list is just too long to do review requests from other authors right now. Also, we focus only on reviews. We do not do cover reveals or release day promos. And we do not do is promote any author whose books we haven’t read, words have power and I can’t in good conscience put my name on a book if I don’t know its good.

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?

The interaction between us and our followers and other bloggers. It’s a really great community and everyone has been incredibly supportive of us so far. I’m one of those people that isn’t afraid to ask questions if I don’t know something and my blogging friends were right there to answer them for me. No judgement, it has been a wonderful experience so far.

When you aren’t busy with your blog, what do you enjoy doing?

I beta read for my core authors and mess with Judith. LOL, actually, my daughter and I do a lot of crafts and my husband likes to do car shows so we go to those as well.

What would you like the whole world to know about your blog?

We are cool.

Links... links for these lovely ladies... Please remember to show them some love. ♥

The beauty of events is that you get to meet new people. A PA asked if I'd be interested in doing a takeover for a blog's event... Yup... it's that easy. Colleen with Itsy Bitsy Book Bits is an amazing woman who does so much for authors. She does more in a day than most people I know and she just makes it so much fun to hang out on her page!

She even took time out of her crazy busy schedule to answer my interview questions. ♥

Aside from loving to read, why did you start blogging?

I was hearing a lot of stories about authors getting poor service and no one caring about them. I thought that maybe slowly I could help to make a difference while doing something I love.

How long have you been blogging?

A little over a year

Where is you blog’s home? US or abroad?

US

What’s your favorite book?

Parker Sibling Series by Leigh Ann Lunsford

What’s your favorite genre?

True Crime

Is there any specific genre that you don’t care to read?

Self Help

What is the one thing about your blog that you think makes it stand out among the other blogs?

I truly care about the authors and people in general. I may not always get it right, I have and will make mistakes but I always try to learn, grow, and be supportive of all authors.

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?

All the relationships I have been able to build with amazing authors, readers, and reading friends.

When you aren’t busy with your blog, what do you enjoy doing?

I seem to always be busy with my blog, but in those rare instances I love to play volleyball, am obsessed with reality tv shows and crime shows.

What would you like the whole world to know about your blog?

That I strive to make it a place for authors and readers to call home. That I’m not perfect but I will always try to learn, grow, and correct anything I screw up and most importantly that without the authors, the readers, and my fellow blogs I am nothing.

Links for the Itsy Bitsy Book Bits Blog... please go show Colleen some love. ♥
