Attention! Attention!
Urgent updates!

To my dearest readers~

Due to the changes in policy from Draft 2 Digital and Barnes & Noble’s Nook Press, I must update you on how things have changed for me and accessing my books.

First: Draft 2 Digital (D2D).

D2D was a platform I used largely to reach wider audiences who wanted to get books without dealing with Amazon or B&N. It was a convenient way for me to distribute to a huge number of small platforms. However, they have instated a policy that they say it to “weed out AI slop” uploads of charging a yearly fee if the author doesn’t make more than $100 in royalties in a year. I don’t believe this will weed anything out other than the smallest of authors who can’t really afford any sort of fee to use the platform. The AI slop uploaders will find ways around it as they always do, just as pirate websites find ways around barriers put up against them.

That being said, I have officially delisted ALL of my books from ALL of the platforms D2D offered access to. I didn’t close my account with them because they may come to their senses and realize this is a royal mistake (some pun intended and a heap of sarcasm absolutely implied). I’m not holding my breath that they will nor am I willing to pay to play on their platform.

Second: B&N Nook Press (NP).

The policy instated by NP is that they now require ALL print books to be retail priced at $14.99 or higher regardless of size or format (paperback or hardback). If printed it MUST be $14.99 or higher. As someone who occasionally writes a novella, I find this to be the epitome of corporate greed and *insert a slew of really bad words aimed at the fools who thought this was a great idea and the government doorknobs who not only enable it but encourage it.

That being said, I have complied with their daft pricing policy and raised all of my publicly available paperbacks on BARNES & NOBLE ONLY to reflect this. Novellas are $15, most books are $25, a couple are more or less depending on the book. I am not thrilled with this on any level.. For the moment, my paperbacks will remain available on the B&N website, but I may just take all print books offline and sell them privately alone just to save my blood pressure.

Third: What this means for you, dear readers, going forward.

I cannot, and I mean CANNOT!! stress enough that if you want to read my books – EBOOK OR PAPERBACK – you should get them directly FROM ME. Yes, you can get eBooks from me directly for either the kindle app or the nook app format. If you want paperback, I WILL NOT CHARGE MORE than the old prices ($7 for novellas, $15 for regular books, etc.). If NP chooses to charge me more for printing them then so be it, I will eat that extra cost to keep things reasonable for you. Other perks of getting paperback books directly from me – you can get them signed or not depending on what YOU want; I will ship directly to anyone and gift wrap if you wish; you can avoid giving your money to corporate greedsters who don’t give two hoots about you or me.

TLDR:

No more D2D.

Horribly expensive paperback books from B&N.

Buying directly from me keeps you supplied in books – both paperback and eBook – at a reasonable price.

Please visit my website (right here for your convience♥) for my full catalog of books available in both eBook and paperback (even B&N doesn’t have my full catalog of paperbacks! :O ) *linktree in my bio

Help support me as a small business while getting the books you want.

**PS: You'll find new buttons for buying links under every book in my catalog for going around Amazon and the other big business. They'll be the biggest buttons in the group.

Happy Reading!

Here are links for you to buy my books in a more honest and direct way:

You can now purchase my books WITHOUT going to Amazon!

How? You ask.

I've put all of my books into PayHip which will now offer you the option of buying Kindle ready or Nook ready eBooks that YOU will own. Amazon and B&N get nothing from the purchase and you'll be supporting me as a small business. We all win.
